MOME Project 1: Falling in Love
I like how it shows that falling in love can be scary and fast. stepping into the unknown. but as long as you're together, everything will be fineI never really thought of my animation like this but it was an interesting point of view from a friend of mine. When this got assigned I had no idea what to do. It was either a promo video for an upcoming tournament or an anime intro. In the end I picked neither and opted for a quick narrative. To be honest I can't exactly remember how this concept came to be but I did know that I wanted to do some sort of MV for Indigo Jam Unit. Overall, I'm happy that it's done but not so much with how it turned out. Looks more like a flash animation IMO. Enjoy!

Deja vu?
Now I'm in the quarter that I was dreading all summer, but after waking up and realizing that I've taken these classes before at TCC. The exact same classes. Web Design, Motion Graphics, and Production Design. Back then, that was by far the most stressful semester but one of my favorites because of what kind of work I was doing.
Things are different now. Far more experienced and a lot more blood thirsty. I have some things that I have to prove to people but more importantly myself.
Had lunch with a friend yesterday and the thing that stuck with me the most was how I portray myself to be lazy. Which I totally understand because of how I carry myself during class and in everyday life, but when it comes to design, I'm anything but lazy. Only a handful of people have really seen how much effort I put into every single one of my projects. After designing for so long, you understand the magnitudes of projects and deadlines. I've learned how to time manage well so I can avoid having to put up with the stress the day before it's due.
Oh well. Lots of work in the near future, can't wait to share it. Hopefully I'll be able to turn heads.

Bleach 10th Anniversary
I'm not gonna lie, when I saw this spread.. I was like "OH S**T". Bleach has always been an up and down ride for me but I've always loved it deep, deep, deep down in my heart. Looks like we'll be going back to Soul Society and I can't wait to see how different everyone else looks as well. Need to design something the celebrate the anniversary, has it really been 10 years? XD

WIP X-Men Rogue
Been watching X-Men: Animated Series for the past few weeks and I love it. Most of the time when I go back and re-watch something in the past it's pretty bad the second time around. (i.e. Power Rangers) This hasn't happened while watching X-Men again, I guess mainly even though it has it's share of corny moments the themes and issues they tackle are still related to current events. My favorite character is Rogue haha. She's so hot and something about that Southern accent.. anyways, her power is bad ass and I love her so I did a fanart.

Ayur Poster
Pointillism with masking tape? Not exactly the smartest thing I've ever done but it sure as hell paid off! Doing completely line-art would've been the fastest way to accomplish this project but me and Karan went to go Seurat on my living room wall. I used a scene from Hanasaku Iroha as reference and decent amount of tape. My prof. is talking about cutting it out of my wall.......... I'm not so sure how my landlord is going to that proposal but we'll see.

Typography Project: Inversion
TapeArt - Fejzo & Luka Ursic from Multipraktik on Vimeo.
I saw some videos by these guys awhile ago and I've always wanted to do something like this, but never had a chance or reason to... until now. For my final project of this series I want to do a tape art mural on a wall. Sadly it's going to rain all weekend. T-T

Blazo Poster
To keep up with my theme of Hiphop Jazz producers I went with Blazo for this assignment. The color scheme is inspired from his Colors of Jazz album, which I highly recommend. The goal was to use fragmentation in the type and image relationship so I kept it simple and just cut off the top of his name with one of the color bars.

Seriously?!
So after a devastating loss of my iPod dying on Sunday, the charger for my Macbook Pro dies too. This is the only way I can illustrate my sadness. Not a good week for me and Apple products. Despite what you see in this drawing, I didn't rage this hard. Of course I had a reference but it was nostalgic drawing DBZ stuff again. A lot of people hate on Akira Toriyama but I admire him. Sigh, looks like I'll be blowin money fast this weekend. /gg

I drew a Guy? wtf
Got so tired of failing at Maya so I decided to screw around on the Cintiqs in Dyson. Unfortunately I forgot my references for what I wanted to CG tonight so I went with an oldie from one of my animations a few years ago. He has no name, I just refer to him as "white knight" and it's a long story haha. So far painting everyday is paying off IMO and I think working on the Cintiqs makes it a whooooleeee lot easier to line art. I'm thinking this will be a daily thing from now on. Now it's time to study for my life drawing midterm :(
